Nepal Monastery Experience: 3 Days
This monastery experience is an incredible and rare opportunity for you to not only gain an insight into daily life within a Buddhist community, but to talk with, eat with, and live with the monks themselves. You’ll be helping to give this amazing community of 250 monks a deeper, better understanding of the world around them. You’ll have the chance to meditate with the monks, and will even be given access to prayer sessions – an experience you won’t find on a tourist trail.
The monastery is built in the Himalayan foothills 2 hours out of Kathmandu in a mountain ridge and is one of the most sacred monasteries in all of Nepal. There is no TV, radio, or cellphones, just time for contemplation and peace.
- Visit the temples and world heritage sites of Kathmandu
- Gain an understanding of the Buddhist culture and faith
- Immerse yourself in Nepalese culture & tradition
- Live in a monastery and take part in meditation & prayer sessions
